Professional Paint
Correction & Detailing

Machine polishing is used to improve paint clarity, gloss and reduce visible paint defects, with the correction level selected according to the condition of your vehicle's paintwork. Machine polishing removes a small amount of clear coat as defects are levelled, so the work is always kept within safe limits.

The achievable result depends on

  • Paint condition
  • Paint hardness
  • Paint thickness
  • Defect severity
  • Previous repairs
  • The amount of correction that can safely be performed

The achievable result depends on the condition and safe limits of the paintwork, so no fixed level of defect removal is promised.

Paint Correction Packages

Stage 1 Paint Correction

Single-stage machine polish / paint enhancement

From £160

Ideal for vehicles with lighter defects that need a major improvement in gloss and paint clarity without the additional cutting and refinement stages of a full two-stage correction.

Designed primarily for

  • Light swirl marks
  • Wash marring
  • Minor paint defects
  • Light oxidation / haze
  • Reduced gloss and clarity

The process

  • A single polishing stage using an appropriate pad and compound/polish combination
  • The aim is to significantly improve gloss, clarity and overall appearance while safely reducing lighter defects

Protection included

After polishing, the paintwork receives a standard wax protection to help protect the freshly polished finish and add gloss. A ceramic coating is available as an optional upgrade.

Stage 1 is not intended to remove deep scratches, stone chips or defects that extend beyond the safe polishing range.

Stage 2 Paint Correction

Two-stage paint correction

From £300

Two separate machine-polishing stages for paint with more significant defects, finished to a higher level of refinement.

Intended for

  • Moderate swirl marks
  • Heavier wash marring
  • Oxidation
  • More noticeable surface defects
  • Some light scratches that remain within the clear coat

The two stages

  • Cutting stage — a more corrective compound and pad combination targets more significant paint defects
  • Refining stage — a finer polish and pad combination refines the finish, removes haze or marring from the cutting stage where necessary, and maximises gloss, clarity and finish quality

Protection included

After polishing, the paintwork receives a standard wax protection to help protect the freshly polished finish and add gloss. A ceramic coating is available as an optional upgrade.

Scratches that are too deep, including defects extending beyond the safe polishing range, cannot simply be machine polished away. Stone chips and damage requiring paint or bodywork repair are outside the scope of paint correction.

Prices start from the figures shown. The final price depends on vehicle size, paint condition, contamination and the amount of work required.

Stage 1 vs Stage 2

A quick comparison to help you understand the difference.

Stage 1

Single-stage machine polish

Best suited to

  • Light swirls
  • Wash marring
  • Minor defects
  • Gloss enhancement

Process

  • One polishing stage
  • Less aggressive correction
  • Focus on improving gloss, clarity and reducing lighter defects

From £160

Stage 2

Two-stage paint correction

Best suited to

  • More noticeable swirling
  • Moderate paint defects
  • Oxidation
  • More significant wash damage
  • Light scratches that can safely be corrected

Process

  • Cutting stage
  • Refining stage
  • Greater correction potential
  • Higher level of finish refinement

From £300

Every vehicle is different. The appropriate correction stage will depend on the condition of the paintwork and what can safely be achieved.

Upgrade your protection

Add a Ceramic Coating

A ceramic coating is a liquid protective coating that chemically bonds to the vehicle's paintwork and forms a durable protective layer. It provides strong hydrophobic properties, helping water and contaminants run off the surface more easily, while improving resistance to environmental and chemical contamination and maintaining gloss.

A ceramic coating can

  • Improved hydrophobicity
  • Easier to maintain
  • Better resistance to environmental contaminants
  • Longer-lasting protection than traditional wax
  • Enhanced gloss and slickness

Ceramic coating upgrade

  • No ceramic coatingIncluded standard wax protection — part of every polishing package.
  • Ceramic coatingAvailable as an upgrade. Ask for the current coating options and pricing when you enquire, and we'll talk you through the differences.

Ceramic coatings provide protection but are not scratch-proof or stone-chip protection. Proper washing and maintenance are still required to maintain the coating's performance. Where a specific coating is offered, only the manufacturer's documented durability claim is quoted — actual durability depends on preparation, application and maintenance.

The Detailing Process

  1. 01

    Vehicle assessment

The paintwork is inspected to determine its condition and the appropriate correction level.

  2. 02

    Safe exterior wash

The vehicle is thoroughly cleaned before any correction work begins.

  3. 03

    Decontamination

Iron, tar and bonded contaminants are removed where required.

  4. 04

    Machine polishing

The selected Stage 1 or Stage 2 process is carried out according to the condition of the paint.

  5. 05

    Final inspection

The paintwork is inspected to make sure the finish is consistent and the result has been achieved safely.

  6. 06

    Protection

Standard wax protection is applied, or your selected ceramic coating upgrade where booked.
